SOAR Ethics Virtual Pilot

compass pointing northwest

In collaboration with Asian Health Services, in September and October 2020, NHTTAC delivered two free 1.5-hour virtual pilots of the new SOAR training, Ethical Considerations: Working With Individuals Who Have Experienced Trafficking. The lessons learned from the pilots are being incorporated into the development of a new SOAR Online module. The new online module will dive deep into ethical considerations when working with individuals who may have experienced human trafficking and will teach (1) strategies for ethical decision making, including privacy and confidentiality; (2) what you can and cannot do under HIPAA; (3) how to document disclosures; and (4) when or when not to share with other entities (e.g., law enforcement, child protective services).
