In the human trafficking field, there is a growing need to educate providers about the relationship between substance use and human trafficking. The National Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance Center piloted two new trainings: (1) SOAR for Organizations for Substance Use Treatment Providers, designed to help organizations strengthen their protocols to identify and respond to trafficking and (2) Working With Individuals With Substance Use and/or Co-Occurring Disorders, designed to teach providers about the connections between substance use and trafficking, as well as treatment options.
