PA Rural Health Human Trafficking Summit: SOAR for Health Care

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services developed SOAR to educate professionals on human trafficking. By applying a public health approach, this 90-minute SOAR for Health Care training seeks to build the capacity of providers to identify and respond to the complex needs of individuals who are at risk of trafficking, currently experiencing trafficking, or who have experienced trafficking. As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the types of trafficking in the United States
  2. Recognize possible indicators of trafficking in health care settings
  3. Identify trauma-informed screening tools and techniques for use by health care providers
  4. Develop a trafficking response protocol for their organization

Assess the needs of individuals who are at risk of trafficking or who may have experienced trafficking and coordinate services in a multidisciplinary network of service providers
